This research article presents a novel single-atom-layer (SAL) metallization strategy to enhance the photocatalytic reduction of CO2 into CH4 using plasmonic semiconductors. The study demonstrates that incorporating Sn single atoms onto W18 O49 nanowires significantly improves IR light absorption and CO2 adsorption, achieving over 98% selectivity for CH4 production and a photocatalytic activity more than nine times greater than bare W18 O49.
