About this document

Freestyle ALT Flap: Perforator Study by Miguel Angel Lamas Ramirez is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The study evaluates the freestyle harvesting technique of the anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap, which is increasingly used for reconstructive surgery, particularly in head-and-neck cases. Out of 59 ALT flaps harvested without imaging techniques, 73% utilized the descending branch of the lateral circumflex femoral artery, while some flaps experienced partial or total necrosis. The freestyle technique allows for better evaluation of perforators, reducing complications associated with inaccurate imaging results.
