This study investigates the morpho-structure and ionic conductivity of lanthanum silicate apatites doped with various transitional metal cations using gel-combustion synthesis. The results indicate that Cr and Fe doped samples exhibit higher ionic conductivity compared to those doped with Mn, Mo, and W, with LaSiCrO showing the highest conductivity at elevated temperatures. The findings suggest that these doped apatites could be viable candidates for use as electrolytes in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs).
