BASIC was created in 1964 by John Kemeny and Thomas Kurtz to enable students in fields other than science and mathematics to learn programming. C++ was created in 1985 by Bjarne Stroustrup to add object-oriented programming to the C language and require control of object construction, destruction, copying and movement. Python was created in the late 1980s by Guido van Rossum and first released in 1991 to have a dynamic type system and support both built-in and user-defined types.
