The UC Berkeley Human Rights Program will host North Korean defector and activist Park Sang-Hak on Monday, October 20th from 4-5:30PM in 160 Kroeber Hall. Park was born in North Korea in 1968 and defected to South Korea in 1999. For over a decade, he has led efforts to send anti-North Korean government leaflets into North Korea via balloon to advocate for democratization, which is a controversial issue. Park received the Vaclav Havel Human Rights Prize in 2013. The event is co-sponsored by Berkeley Law
