The Basilica de Taal is located in Taal, Batangas and is the largest Catholic church in the Philippines. [1] The first church was built in 1575 but was destroyed by volcanic eruptions in 1754 and 1849. [2] The current church was constructed between 1856 and 1878 in a Baroque architectural style with coral stone and adobe. [3] It underwent renovations after earthquakes in the early 2000s and now has a Neoclassical facade.
