The Markhor is the national animal of Pakistan. Male Markhors can be identified by their long, corkscrew-shaped horns that can reach up to 160 cm and their black faces and thick white fur on their necks and chests. Female Markhors have shorter horns up to 25 cm and are tan in color with white undersides and black and white patterned legs. Markhors are found in the mountains of Pakistan between 500-3,500 meters and are active in early mornings and late afternoons. They are classified as an endangered species
