A six-lump kinetic model has been developed for the hydrocracking of a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and vacuum gas oil (VGO) blend using a PtPd/HY zeolite catalyst. The model predicts product distribution and identifies optimal operating conditions, achieving over 80% HCO conversion and over 60% HDPE conversion. This model aims to facilitate the valorization of waste plastics in industrial hydrocracking units as part of a Waste-Refinery strategy.
