On examination, he had a temperature of 38.3 degrees C, enlarged lymph nodes, hyperemic pharynx and tonsils, and normal heart and lung auscultation. He was assessed with acute tonsillitis and prescribed IV fluids, cefixime, methylprednisolone, and paracetamol.
