This paper presents a multi-agent Model Predictive Control (MPC) approach for Load Frequency Control (LFC) in a two-area hydro-thermal power system, utilizing a Bat Inspired Algorithm (BIA) for optimal parameter tuning. The proposed method aims to enhance system stability and performance compared to conventional PI controllers and those tuned by Genetic Algorithms (GA). Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the BIA-tuned multi-agent MPC in reducing oscillations and improving control efficiency
