What is Keratinized Tissue Width and Peri-Implant Diseases about?

This systematic review evaluates the impact of keratinized tissue (KT) width on the prevalence of peri-implant diseases. The analysis included 22 articles and found that reduced KT width (<2 mm) is associated with higher rates of peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis, as well as increased plaque accumulation and marginal bone loss. The findings suggest that maintaining a KT width of ≥2 mm may improve soft- and hard-tissue stability around dental implants.
