This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluates the diagnostic value of the Face, Arm, Speech Test (FAST) and Balance, Eyes, Face, Arm, Speech, Time (BEFAST) in acute ischemic stroke patients. The analysis of 9 studies with 6,151 participants found that BEFAST has a higher diagnostic value compared to FAST, with sensitivities of 0.68 and 0.77 respectively, and specificities of 0.85 for BEFAST and 0.60 for FAST.
