Carabao, also known as water buffalo, are not very alert and have low curiosity. They are content to lay in the mud or under shade. Carabao do not play much and their main physical activity is working for farmers, such as plowing rice fields in the Philippines. When wild, carabao travel in herds and seek out wetlands together. Humans in the Philippines rely on carabao for livelihood by using them to plow rice fields for 5-7 hours per day, resting when the fields are dry.
