What is T-lymphocyte Activation Overview about?
T-lymphocyte activation requires an antigen presenting cell such as a dendritic cell to present an antigen peptide bound to MHC class II to a T-cell receptor on a T-helper cell. This interaction along with costimulatory signals such as CD28 binding to CD80/86 causes the T-helper cell to differentiate and produce cytokines including IL-2. IL-2 then causes the T-helper cell to further differentiate into either a Th1 or Th2 cell depending on the cytokine environment, leading to different immune responses. Regu
