About this document

Highly Porous Superabsorbent Hydrogels by LarasWening is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This document describes a novel method for creating highly porous superabsorbent hydrogels (HPSHs) using a foaming technique with porosity generators. Acetone and sodium bicarbonate were used as porogens during the polymerization of acrylic acid and a crosslinker to create porous structures. Sodium bicarbonate produced more porous hydrogels with a higher swelling rate compared to acetone or no porogens. When both porogens were used together, a synergistic effect was observed with significantly increased swe
