What is Distracted by the Highlander about?

Veterinarian Kay Morris' commitment to caring for animals leads to a wild car crash into a lake that leaves her waking on the shore of Loch Ness...five hundred years in the past. Faced with the famous monster, she's confident she's hallucinating or in some sort of strange dream. But when the reality of the situation finally settles in, Kay must face something even more challenging...her attraction to the stablemaster, Liam Grant.Liam shares Kay's love of animals and embraces her arrival just when a serious issue arises with the livestock in the area. Liam can't determine what's causing the deaths of the cattle, but he suspects it's the Wisps, supernatural beings that trap unsuspecting prey, including humans, and devour them to the bone. While Kay struggles with her new life, she also gives in to their mutual attraction, convincing Liam she was sent back in time to be his bride. But when the attacks intensify and the villagers panic, Liam and Kay must lead the fight and risk their lives to try to save the new world she's fallen so in love with.
