Abi Gamin in the Uttar Pradesh Himalaya has been attempted several times since the 1850s by German, British, Swiss, and Indian expeditions. The first ascent was made in 1950 by a Swiss team via the northeast ridge from Tibet. The mountain was later climbed in 1953 and 1955 by Indian teams via the southwest ridge.
