The Supreme Court of the Philippines ruled that the Court of Appeals erred in refusing to reconsider its decision in light of new information. Specifically, the Court of Appeals should have taken judicial notice that a related civil case that had been dismissed was subsequently reinstated by another division of the Court of Appeals.
