An unusually heavy winter snowfall and cold, wet spring in Utah resulted in a record 15 feet of snow still remaining on the mountains in June. This allowed Snowbird ski resort to remain open until July 4th, over 200 days this season. However, the large snowpack has disrupted other outdoor activities like mountain biking and caused flooding concerns as the snow begins to rapidly melt in the coming hot summer months.
