What is Colorectal Lesions in Melanoma PET/CT about?

This study aimed to determine the prevalence of incidentally detected colorectal lesions (CIs) on PET/CT scans in melanoma patients, correlate PET/CT findings with colonoscopy results, and identify factors associated with colonoscopy referral. The study found that 3.2% of 2,509 melanoma patients who underwent PET/CT scans between 2001-2013 were found to have CIs. Of the 81 patients with CIs, 56% (45 patients) underwent colonoscopy. Colonoscopy found premalignant or malignant disease in 58% of these patients
