System of a Down went on hiatus in 2006 after releasing their albums Mezmerize and Hypnotize. They reunited in 2010 and have since released two new songs in 2020, but have not produced a full album since their hiatus. Creative differences and personal projects among band members have contributed to the lack of new material and limited touring since then.
