This booklet contains general description and the overhaul procedures necessary to repair, overhaul, or service the 1987 -1993 THM 700-R4 transmissions. The transmission is a fully automatic unit consisting of a three element torque converter with the addition of a converter clutch. Changing of the gear ratios is fully automatic in relation to vehicle speed and engine torque signals are constantly fed to the transmission to provide the proper gear ratio.
