What is Platinum RTD Resistance-Temperature Equation about?
The resistance vs. temperature characteristic of a platinum RTD element is defined by the Callendar–Van Dusen equation, which describes the relationship between resistance and temperature. For temperatures at or above 0 degrees C, resistance (R) is equal to the initial resistance (R0) multiplied by 1 plus coefficients A, B, and C times temperature in degrees C squared and cubed. Below 0 degrees C, an additional term is included. The equation constants for the IEC 60751 TC 3850ppm curve are provided.
