This study examined the effects of feeding different doses of pokea clam (Batissa violacea celebensis) to white rats (Rattus norvegicus). 25 rats were divided into 5 groups that received 0 mg/kg, 5 mg/kg, 50 mg/kg, 500 mg/kg, or 5000 mg/kg of pokea clam for 14 days. Histopathological examination of the kidneys found that the higher the dose, the more changes observed, including tubular necrosis, calcification, and glomerular atrophy. The conclusion is that feeding pokea clam resulted in microscopic changes
