SPO4 Santiago S. Carino was married to Susan Nicdao in 1969 and they had two children together. In 1982, he started cohabiting with Susan Yee and they married in 1992, but had no children. When SPO4 died in 1992, both Susan Nicdao and Susan Yee claimed monetary death benefits from government agencies. Susan Nicdao received P146,000 while Susan Yee received P21,000.
