This study evaluated the long-term effects of alogliptin on glycemic control in Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes over a period exceeding 3 years. Results showed a significant reduction in hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) levels from 7.8% to 7.2% and a decrease in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels. The findings suggest that alogliptin is effective for sustained glycemic control and may also lower LDL-C levels in this patient population.
