This study investigates the high cycle fatigue behavior of Inconel 625 weld overlay deposited on AISI 316L steel plate using gas metal arc welding. Microstructural characterization and mechanical testing including tensile and fatigue testing were performed. The weld overlay exhibited improved mechanical properties compared to the substrate material due to its equiaxed, columnar, and dendritic microstructure imparting strength.
