About this document
Optimum Design of Steel Braced Frames Considering Dynamic Soil-Structure Interaction by Farha Aref is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This research paper presents an optimization framework to design steel braced frames considering dynamic soil-structure interaction under seismic loading. The framework performs time-history analyses using selected earthquake records scaled to a target spectrum. An exponential big bang-big crunch optimization algorithm is used to size the steel frames while minimizing weight. The effects of building height, soil modeling, and ground motion scaling on the optimal design are investigated.
