vaccine-inactivated-sinovac-biotech ## Myocarditis and lack of efficacy: case report A 47-year-old man developed myocarditis following vaccination with Sars-cov-2-vaccine-inactivated-sinovac-biotech. Additionally, he exhibited lack of efficacy following administration of Sars-cov-2-vaccine-inactivated-sinovac-biotech for COVID-19. The man who had a history of type II diabetes, SARS-CoV-2 infection on 10 December 2020, presented with mild flu-like symptoms (rhinitis, myalgia and cough). On 10 February 2021, chest X-ray revealed bronchopneumonia. He received azithromycin and amoxicillin with clavulanic acid. His symptoms were improved. On 23 February 2021, he received a first dose of Sarscov-2-vaccine-inactivated-sinovac-biotech [inactivated vaccine against COVID-19, Sinovac; dose and route not stated]. On 08 March 2021, he presented with dyspnoea and tiredness on moderate exertion. Respiratory infection was suspected. On 09 March 2021, RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 was negative. However, the cough and dyspnoea persisted. On 12 March 2021, a chest X-ray revealed bilateral thickening of the fissures and mild bilateral opacities in the base of the lungs.
