What is Understanding AC Drive Operations about?

A regenerative AC drive operates in all four quadrants of power delivery and can deliver power to or absorb power from a motor. It does this electronically without needing to physically switch motor leads. A regenerative drive has two full bridge circuits that allow it to control both forward and reverse torque. This enables controlled deceleration of the motor by absorbing power through regenerative braking. Regenerative drives are useful when frequent reversals or overhauling loads are involved.
