The resulting sequence of bizarre events involves Dr. Elwin Ransom, familiar to readers of Lewis's <i>Out of the Silent Planet</i>. "The Man Born Blind," a short story, dramatizes the relationship between appearance and reality. Previously published work collected here includes a retelling of a Greek myth entitled "After Ten Years" and three skillful science fiction tales.</p> <p>A collection of Lewis's complete shorter fiction, including two previously unpublished works. </p>
