Placido Del Mundo Elementary School was originally established in 1922 as Talipapa Elementary School to serve the community of Barrio Talipapa in Caloocan, Rizal. It was later renamed Tandang Sora Elementary School and overseen by Don Placido Del Mundo. The school underwent several expansions and renovations over the decades as the student population grew.
