What is Morusin Induces Apoptosis in HCC Cells about?

This study investigates Morusin (Mor), a flavonoid derived from Morus alba L., as a novel inhibitor of ATP-citrate lyase (ACLY) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells. Mor significantly reduces ACLY expression and activity, leading to reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation, mitochondrial damage, and apoptosis in HCC cells, with in vivo validation showing tumor growth inhibition. The findings suggest that targeting ACLY with Mor could be a promising therapeutic strategy for HCC treatment.
