What would happen if Mr Darcy had failed to give Elizabeth Bennet the letter explaining his actions after his disastrous proposal at Rosings? Shocked by Mr Darcy’s desire to marry her, and disgusted by his interference between Jane and Mr Bingley, Elizabeth leaves Kent for London the very next morning after his proposal. Knowing it is impossible for a gentleman to send a letter to a lady he is not engaged to without compromising her reputation, his only hope is that he will see her when he returns to his townhouse in London. Perhaps if they encounter one another enough, Elizabeth will see a new side to him and reconsider her opinion. And maybe he will have a chance to clear his name.
