What is Senj: Strategic Importance and Nehaj Fortress about?

The strategic significance of Senj and the construction of the Nehaj fortress. Senj has historically been an important and famous town in Croatian history as the only coastal town not occupied by Venice or the Ottomans. In the 16th century, after the fall of Klis, Senj was defended by heroic Uskoks who attacked Venetian and other ships. During this time, the Nehaj fortress was built above the town and was a masterpiece of defensive architecture that still overlooks the town today housing a museum.
