Pastor W. Melvin Adams was one of the original twelve “committee” members who meet with Victor Houteff in 1934 in an alleged effort to give a fair hearing to the teachings of the Shepherd’s Rod. He was already known to have to openly rejected this message of truth, and tried to turn others against it by writing a 32-page brochure entitled, Seventh-day Adventist Teaching Versus The Shepherd’s Rod in 1936 .
