This study investigates the use of natural mucilage extracted from the Stenocereus griseus plant as a coagulant for treating domestic wastewater in Cartagena, Colombia. The optimal dosage of the extract was found to be 1400 mgL-1, achieving significant reductions in turbidity (67.24%) and color (72.12%). The findings suggest that S. griseus mucilage is an effective and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional chemical coagulants in wastewater treatment.
