Roger Sperry was a neuropsychologist known for his split-brain research which found that the two hemispheres of the brain have specialized functions. The right brain is best at creative and expressive tasks like recognizing faces, emotions, music, colors and intuition while the left brain excels at logical, analytical thinking like language, numbers and reasoning. Sperry criticized the educational system for neglecting the capabilities of the right hemisphere.
