This document describes measurements of thermal stratification in eight large aircraft hangar buildings during the heating season. Thermal stratification was measured by recording temperature profiles and calculating the floor-to-ceiling temperature differential. Stratification levels between 4-11°C were observed, with two distinct air layers forming - a warmer upper layer and cooler lower layer.
