What is Overview of Wadō-ryū Karate Style about?

Wadō-ryū is a style of karate founded in 1938 in Japan by Hironori Ōtsuka. It blends techniques from Okinawan karate and Japanese jujutsu, incorporating principles of tai sabaki (body management). There are three main organizations that teach Wadō-ryū today. It uses a belt ranking system and teaches numerous kata, or preset forms, including the Pinan, Kūshankū, Naihanchi, and Seishan kata.
