Electrochemical grinding (ECG) is a machining process that uses a combination of electrochemical attack and abrasion from a rotating grinding wheel to remove material from electrically conductive workpieces. During ECG, a small gap of around 0.03 mm is maintained between the cathode wheel and anode workpiece through which an electrolyte and direct current are pumped. This results in electrochemical removal of 95-98% of the material, with the remaining 2-5% removed by abrasion from the wheel. Common applicat
