What is Thyroid Gland Histology Overview about?

The thyroid gland is located in the anterior neck below the larynx. It consists of two lobes connected by an isthmus. The thyroid gland contains spherical follicles surrounded by a vascular network. Each follicle contains a gelatinous colloid substance made of thyroglobulin in the lumen. Follicular cells synthesize and store thyroglobulin in the colloid.
