About this document

Gauss by alexadilardi is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Gauss provided multiple proofs of the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra over his career. His first proof from 1799 used geometric notions of algebraic curves and polar coordinates to show intersections between curves representing the real and imaginary parts of a polynomial, which would yield roots. However, it relied on assumptions about algebraic curves that were only fully proven later. Gauss later offered more rigorous algebraic and analytic proofs in 1816, showing his continued refinement of understanding
