What is Magnetohydrodynamic Effects in Lubrication about?
## Abstract In this paper the problem of lubrication under the influence of a uniform magnetic field, when the lubricant is an incompressible and electrically conducting liquid like mercury, is discussed. Reynolds differential equation for pressure distribution is derived. This is used, in particular, to discuss the case of one‐dimensional thrust bearings. Theoretical results indicate the possibility to achieve the long‐felt need to increase the load capacity and decrease the frictional force.
