About this document
Soil and Rock Density Overview by raissaaraujoborges is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Soil and rock densities are provided in grams per cubic centimeter. Sandy soils like sand and sandy loam have higher densities around 1.52 and 1.44 g/cm3 respectively, while denser clay soils have lower densities near 1.2 g/cm3. Common rocks range from around 2 g/cm3 for softer shale to over 5 g/cm3 for the dense mineral pyrite, with gold having an extremely high density of 19.3 g/cm3.
