About this document
VFAs in Hydroponic Maize and Wheat Fodder by adetayo Bamikole Adekeye is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study investigates the effects of water source and days to harvest on the volatile fatty acids (VFAs) in hydroponically grown maize and wheat fodder. Results indicate that VFAs, particularly acetic acid, were higher when using a nutrient solution compared to borehole water, and that delaying harvest increased certain VFAs in wheat. The optimal harvesting times for maximizing VFAs were found to be 8-10 days for maize and up to 12 days for wheat when using nutrient solution.
