About this document

Anatomy of the Pharynx Explained by Sari Rahmawati Tajudin is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The pharynx, or throat, is located behind the nose and mouth and is divided into three parts: the nasopharynx behind the nose, the oropharynx behind the mouth, and the laryngopharynx between the base of the tongue and the esophagus. The nasopharynx contains the adenoids and connects to the Eustachian tubes. The oropharynx is a shared passageway for breathing and swallowing and contains the palatine tonsils. The laryngopharynx separates solids from air as they pass into the esophagus or larynx.
