Jonathan Adams came from Virginia or Pennsylvania to North Carolina in 1760. In 1762 he married Mary Robeson. He later moved to Marlboro County, South Carolina. Giles Newton Sr. came to Marlboro District, South Carolina in 1785 from Virginia. He died in 1807. Family members lived in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, and elsewhere
