About this document

Homelessness Crisis in Kansas City by Lesley Chubick is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The homeless population in Kansas City, MO has doubled in recent years. Families with children are living on the streets and homeless shelters that used to house 1-2 people are now full every night, turning people away. Surveys found around 3,000 homeless in the Kansas City area, with families and women making up a larger portion than in the past. Reasons for homelessness include lack of income, substance abuse, domestic violence, and poverty from which some cannot recover without assistance.
