Psychological abuse was the most common form of elder abuse reported in a study of 197 older adults in Havana, Cuba. 44.7% of participants reported experiencing some form of domestic abuse. The most frequent types of psychological abuse reported were threats of abandonment, humiliation, criticism in front of others, verbal harassment, and being blamed for family problems.
